“It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.” – David Attenborough. (A legit hero and legend to me.)

First off, I’d like to thank you for stopping by my blog. My name is Jamie Ryder I live in Manchester, England. Here you’ll find a haven for all things wildlife with an emphasis on birds of prey, big cats and canines. Whether it’s my opinion on a certain species or bringing awareness to a charity or conservation event I hope you’ll find passion and comfort in my words.

Animals are beautiful and as humans we have an obligation to protect them and their habitats. When I’m not being a tree hunger or defending small, furry things I’ve got my beak buried in a novel or three. Or it might be a pile of comic books. I’m also an appreciator of a little thing called Steampunk and generally loving being a history geek.

In addition to my animal writing I’m also a short story writer and have been published in New Realm Magazine, Fireborn Publishing and shortstorysunday.com. I also run a comic blog called The Comic Vault.
